• Must love working with children and express an interest in providing positive mentoring for tomorrows leaders.
• Be 21 years old.
• Have a good motor vehicle driving record.
• Posses or be able to obtain a valid Missouri Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with passenger, school bus, and air brake endorsements.
• Be able to successfully complete pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) physical (paid for by school district).
• Successfully complete pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing (paid for by the school district).

Don't have your CDL? That's okay! We offer paid training! Pattonville has a dedicated bus driver trainer with flexible training hours after passing your written CDL exam (CDL permit). Our CDL training includes pre-trip inspection, skills and on the road training to assist you in obtaining your CDL license. The training continues post licensing to include areas such as student management, winter driving, bus evacuation, danger zone and emergency preparedness. Student safety begins and ends with us each day. 

In addition to positively influencing the next generation, the Pattonville School District offers:

• A highly competitive salary structure.
• For the 2023-2024 school year, full-time bus drivers can start out from $19.65 to $25.65 per hour. Pattonville school district pays for prior professional driving experience. You will be given full credit for prior professional driving experience.   
• Full-time bus drivers (20+ hour per week) will work a minimum of four hours a day.
• Trip bus driver opportunities for individuals available to work in the morning or in the afternoon, or on specific days of the week. Primarily covering educational/sporting trips that originate during bus route times. Pattonville offers very competitive pay for trip drivers. WE WILL WORK AROUND YOUR SCHOOL OR WORK SCHEDULE!
• Bus drivers that consistently work over 20 hours per week are considered full-time. Full-time bus drivers receive over $10,320 in annual insurance benefits. Standard benefits include health, dental and life insurance. This also includes excellent state retirement benefits (PEERS).

• Tuition assistance is available to provide financial support to help bus drivers pay for University coursework.

• Bus drivers accrue paid vacation, paid sick time and paid holidays.
