Board Actions
The Board of Education on April 24:
  • Approved as true, complete and correct the abstract of votes cast during the April 3 board election, which were certified by the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, as follows: (three-year term) Jeanne Schottmueller, 2,693; Toby Meyer, 1,238; and Amanda Lienau Purnell, 2,302;
  • Reviewed upcoming trips by the following groups at Pattonville High School: Bowling Club, HOSA-Future Health Professionals (formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America) and speech and debate;
  • Reviewed and accepted an evaluation of the district's gifted education program; to review the report and presentation to the board, see the April 24 board agenda on BoardDocs;
  • Declared a list of equipment as surplus to be sold at auction on the district's GovDeals.com website;
  • Lodged for action the reviewing of Policy JC (School Attendance Areas) and the revising of Policy CBG (Evaluation of the Superintendent) and Policy Procedure DJFA-R-1 (Federal Programs and Projects);
  • Approved a proclamation declaring May 9, 2018 as School Nurse Day in the Pattonville School District;
  • Approved adjusting Bridgeway Elementary School's boundaries for middle school attendance as presented; at this time, this middle school boundary line adjustment will impact 10 Bridgeway fifth-grade students, and communication regarding the impact of a potential boundary line adjustment has taken place with the impacted families and the feedback was positive; more information can be viewed on the April 24 board agenda on BoardDocs;
  • Approved the adoption of Policy FEF (Construction Contracts Bidding and Awards);
  • Approved the review of policies IKF (Graduation Requirements) and INC (Speakers at District Events); revisions to policies IKFB (Graduation Exercises) and JGA (Corporal Punishment); and the rescission of policies EG (Office Hours for Schools) and JB (Equal Educational Opportunities); and
  • Awarded bids for summer 2018 construction projects funded by the 2017 zero tax rate increase bond issue to a variety of companies for $3,347,686, to be carried out under supervision of SM Wilson, the district's construction manager.
